Sebastien Loeb wins Wales Rally GB

Sebastien Loeb beat Petter Solberg by 19.1 seconds to win the Wales Rally GB

Seven times World champion Sebastien Loeb has pitted Petter Solberg to the post to win this year’s Wales Rally GB in the final WRC race of the season.

The Citroen driver extended his 4.6 second overnight lead to 19.1second over the Norwegion on the Resolfen and Margam stages earlier today.

The Frenchman and co-driver Daniel Elena lifted the Wales Rally GB trophy in Cardiff at the end of their World championship winning season.

Third in the race Ford’s Jari Matti Latval scopped the runner’s up position in the driver’s championship after Loeb’s team mate Sebastien Ogier crashed out of the Wales Rally GB on Saturday.

This year’s event was the last race for the current 2.0 litre cars after an FIA rule change sees WRC teams move to a smaller 1.6 litre vehicle next year.
