Police granted more time to question man in connection with unexplained Powys death

Police have been given an extra 36 hours to question a man arrested in connection with an unexplained death in Powys.

The body of 63-year-old Thomas Morgan was found at his home in Robins Square in Newtown on Monday.

Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Our enquiries continue with friends and associates of Mr Morgan.

“A trained family liaison officer has been in contact with the family and is keeping them informed of developments.

“It is clear that Tommy was a well liked and well known local man who spent a lot of time in the town centre.”

People who saw Mr Morgan on Monday are asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
