Gareth Bale and Craig Bellamy not in Gary Speed’s first Wales squad

Wales manager, Gary Speed, hasn’t included Gareth Bale and Craig Bellamy in his first squad for the Carling Nations Cup match with the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Tuesday 8th February 2011.

Tottenham star Bale is injured while the Cardiff captain Bellamy wasn’t considered.

There are three returns to the squad: Danny Gabbidon (West Ham United), Freddie Eastwood (Coventry City) and Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal – Cardiff City loan).

Danny Gabbidon, Freddie Eastwood and Aaron Ramsey are all recalled to the squad.

The players will meet in Cardiff on Saturday evening, 5 February and fly to Dublin on Monday 7.

Wales squad:

Goalkeepers: Jason Brown (Blackburn), Wayne Hennessey (Wolverhampton), Boaz Myhill (West Brom)

Defenders: Danny Collins (Stoke), James Collins (Aston Villa), Neal Eardley (Blackpool), Danny Gabbidon (West Ham), Chris Gunter (Nottingham), Craig Morgan (Preston), Sam Ricketts (Bolton), Ashley Williams (Swansea).

Midfielders: Andrew Crofts (Norwich), David Edwards (Wolverhampton), Andy King (Leicester), Joe Ledley (Celtic), Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal – on loan at Cardiff), David Vaughan (Blackpool).

Strikers: Simon Church (Reading), Robert Earnshaw (Nottingham), Ched Evans (Sheffield United), Freddie Eastwood (Coventry), Steve Morison (Millwall), Hal Robson-Kanu (Reading).
