A fifth person has been arrested in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Thomas Thompson in Liverpool.
Two women and two men were arrested in north Wales earlier today.
A 31-year-old woman from Liverpool was arrested in north Wales this afternoon on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Officers are questioning a 25 year-old women and a 29 year-old man on suspicion of murder. Another man and woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Mr Thompson, who is from Liverpool, was found at 9am on Sunday, 17 April in a room at the Manor Hotel on Edge Lane in Liverpool.
Following the arrests today detectives are re-appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Green, from Merseyside Police said: “An extensive investigation into this matter is still underway and we are determined to bring the people responsible to justice.
“We are still keen to speak to anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
“In particular I am appealing for the driver of a black Hackney cab that picked up two women and one man on Ranelagh Street in Liverpool city centre on Saturday night to come forward. The taxi picked these people up near to Central Station between 7.30pm and 8.30pm and then dropped them off at the Weighing Machine public house in Wavertree.
“I would urge anyone who has any information, which can help us with our enquiries to contact detectives immediately in confidence.”
All five people arrested today remain in police custody.
