Ice ice, baby: Free hockey night in Cardiff Bay

Craig Camilleri: the Cardiff Ice Hounds' top scorer

Sport lovers on a budget can skate over to Cardiff Bay on Saturday 21 May for a free double feature of hockey. The Cardiff Eagles and Cardiff Ice Hounds open the “Big Blue Tent” at 4:30pm and 7pm for two matches.

“We’re trying to build our fan base… and raise the profile of ice hockey,” Ice Hounds club secretary Lucas Howell writes over email.

The Eagles host the Solihull Vipers in the first match of the day at 4:30pm.

The Ice Hounds take to the rink against the RAF Bluewings at 7pm. The Ice Hounds have been beaten once this season, whilst the Bluewings skate at the bottom of the league.

Both fixtures are part of the Southern Recreational Hockey Conference.
