Guest blog: Cardiff Blogs meet

By Sarah Hill

It’s time for another Cardiff Blogs meet, hooray! The topic for the October meetup is “Themed Blogs”.

We’ve lined up two blogs from the Wales Blog Awards shortlist to talk about what it’s like to run a themed blog and how they feel about being shortlisted.

Tom Fowler will be talking about Radical Wales, shortlisted for Political Blog and Steve Devereux will be introducing us to Motown Junkies, which is in the Entertainment & Music category.

In addition to the talks from Tom and Steve we’ll also be launching our logo design competition so if you’re interesting in winning some prizes in exchange for a logo, come along and hear the details.

The meetup this evening will be take place at The Maldron Hotel on Saint Mary Street, which is right next to the bus station and central train station. There’s free Wi-Fi, so tweeting during the event is encouraged (just try to keep it clean, please!) check out the hashtag #cdfblogs to find out what other bloggers are tweeting.

They’ve also kindly agreed to give us a 10% discount on all the drinks purchased at the bar. (Thanks guys!) and There’ll be a free drink on arrival, which always seems to go down a treat so make sure you arrive early to grab yours!

The main event will begin 6:30pm with the speakers starting at 7.00pm. We’ve made it a little earlier to enable people to get to bed at a reasonable hour (it is a Monday after all) but if you can’t make it for 6:30pm don’t worry, just turn up whenever you can, we’ll still be happy to see you.

Follow us at @cdfblogs or check out our blog at http://cardiffblogs.wordpress.com to hear the latest information about the meetups.

Don’t forget: our events are free to attend and open to everyone so if you’re not a blogger (or not from Cardiff!) don’t worry! We’ll love you just as much if you come, we promise!
