Two men appear in Cardiff Crown Court accused of murdering Aamir Siddiqi

Two men have appeared in court accused of murdering a schoolboy stabbed to death on his own doorstep.

Ben Hope, 36, and Jason Richards, 35, deny killing student Aamir Siddiqi, 17, at his home, appeared at a court via videolink.

Mr Siddiqi was knifed in the neck in front of his parents who were also stabbed at their home in Roath, Cardiff.

Mr Hope and Mr Richards also deny trying to murder Aamir’s father Iqbal, 68, and mother Parveen, 55.

Mr Hope, of Richmond Road, Cardiff, and Mr Richards, of North Road, Cardiff, were remanded in custody by a judge at Cardiff Crown Court.

Mr Siddiqi’s parents, who have three daughters older than him, tried to defend their only son during the attack at their home.

The court heard the pair are due to stand trial next spring.
